Want to Be Part of SHARP 2026? Become a Student Ambassador!

The SHARP & Scottish Lipid Forum Annual Meeting brings together healthcare professionals, researchers and students from across the UK - and we want students to be at the heart of it.
Our Student Ambassador Programme gives healthcare students the opportunity to get involved in the meeting, gain first-hand experience of a national healthcare conference, and connect with professionals working across cardiovascular health and research.
For SHARP, the programme is about more than providing practical support at the meeting. We want to encourage the next generation of healthcare professionals to engage with cardiovascular health, research and education, and to feel part of the wider SHARP community from an early stage in their careers.
An opportunity to get involved
Student Ambassadors play an important role in helping the Annual Meeting run smoothly and ensuring that delegates, speakers and presenters feel welcome.
Throughout the meeting, Ambassadors may be involved in:
Supporting Q&A sessions during the main programme
Welcoming and assisting delegates
Helping attendees find sessions, workshops and facilities
Supporting speakers and session chairs
Assisting with the Secondary School Education Day
Providing general support throughout the meeting
The programme also provides an opportunity to experience the meeting from behind the scenes while taking part in the wider programme.

Learn, connect and build experience
Being a Student Ambassador is a chance to experience a national educational meeting and gain an insight into how a professional conference is delivered.
Ambassadors will have the opportunity to attend lectures, workshops and research presentations, meet healthcare professionals and researchers, and connect with fellow students from across Scotland and the UK.
It’s also an opportunity to develop practical skills in communication, organisation, teamwork and event support - experience that can be valuable as students progress through their studies and into their future careers.
Successful applicants will receive:
Free day registration for the Annual Meeting
Overnight accommodation
Reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses
An invitation to the conference drinks reception and dinner
Opportunities to attend the wider Annual Meeting programme
Networking opportunities with healthcare professionals, researchers and fellow students
A certificate recognising their contribution
Who can apply?
The programme is open to SHARP student members currently studying in person at a Scottish university on a healthcare-related programme, including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, allied health professions and other relevant disciplines.
Students studying at universities outside Scotland, including those visiting or temporarily based in the UK, are not eligible to apply.
Not already a SHARP member? Student membership is free, so you can join before applying.
We welcome applications from students from a broad range of healthcare disciplines.
Could you be our next Student Ambassador?
If you’re interested in healthcare, research, education or cardiovascular health and would like to gain experience at a national meeting while meeting people working across the field, we’d love to hear from you.
Applications are currently open, but places are limited.
