SHARP forges powerful alliance with Royal College to boost Scotland’s heart health

Scottish Heart and Arterial disease Risk Prevention (SHARP) is thrilled to announce a major new affiliation with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG). SHARP trustees expressed immense excitement about this strategic partnership, which unites two organisations dedicated to medical excellence. Together with RCPSG fellows, the charity looks forward to a dynamic collaboration. By combining expertise, resources, and clinical leadership, the joint initiative will work aggressively to promote prevention, advance education, and rapidly improve the cardiovascular health of Scotland’s populace.


Professor Mary Joan Macleod, Chair of SHARP, said:

College President Professor Eteiba, who is a front-line interventional cardiologist, said:


“The MoU marks a commitment to education, training and advocacy, and we very much look forward to working closely with the SHARP team in the years ahead.”


The MoU was signed at the College on Friday (21 August 2026) by Professor Mary Joan Macleod, Chair of SHARP and Professor Hany Eteiba, College President.
