SHARP & Scottish Lipid Forum Meeting 2025: A Gathering of Knowledge, Collaboration, and Inspiration

A Refreshing and Engaging Format

This year's programme, curated by SHARP Chair Mary Joan MacLeod and SLF Chairs Jonathan Malo and Rosemary Clarke, struck an excellent balance between learning, networking, and interactive sessions. Delegates welcomed the changes:

“This was one of the most refreshing and informative conferences I have been to in a long time. The balance between presentations, networking and workshops was excellent.”
“Very well organised conference. Provided a great platform to network and discuss all things CVD with like-minded professionals.”

One of the defining strengths of the SHARP & Scottish Lipid Forum Meeting is its ability to bring together a diverse range of healthcare professionals, all united by a shared commitment to reducing cardiovascular risk. From cardiologists and lipid specialists to general practitioners, nurses, students, and early-career researchers, the conference created a vibrant space for sharing experiences, exploring new ideas, and learning from each other.

Delegates highlighted the value of this interdisciplinary approach, emphasising how it fosters a broader understanding of the national landscape of cardiovascular care in Scotland. One attendee reflected:

“A great opportunity to understand the national landscape in Scotland and learn more about what happens on the ground. Great best practice examples too!”

The conference was an invaluable platform for students and junior researchers to showcase their work, allowing them to engage directly with experienced clinicians and researchers. Poster presentations and prize talks offered an interactive forum for emerging talent to gain recognition and feedback, strengthening the next generation of cardiovascular specialists.
