APAM 2024

The 117th Annual Meeting of the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland (APAM 2024) will take place 23-24 May 2024 at the Frederick Douglass Centre in Newcastle. The themes for the meeting are:

  • Population Health & Data Science

  • Ageing and Multimorbidity

  • Novel therapies and diagnostics

  • Rare Diseases

  • Open themes


Speakers include:


  • Professor Cathie Sudlow – Chief Scientist and Deputy Director, Health Data Research UK and Director, BHF Data Science Centre

  • Professor Mary M Reilly – Professor of clinical neurology and consultant neurologistat University College London

  • Professor Sir John Burn – Professor of Clinical Genetics at Newcastle University

  • Professor Sir Adrian Hill – Director, The Jenner Institute, Lakshmi Mittal & Family Professor of Vaccinology

On the Thursday morning, there will be an Emerging Clinical Researchers (ECRs) Workshop – the programme has been created by ECRs for ECRs, and will feature a round-table discussion with MRC, NIHR, Wellcome Trust and AoP amongst others. It will be extremely beneficial for all Academic Clinical Fellows, Clinical Lecturers, PhD Students, Intermediate Fellows, Research Active clinicians (who do not yet hold a senior research fellowship, Professorial or equivalent academic position) and those contemplating research involvement.
