Application Process
The Scottish Heart and Arterial Risk Prevention (SHARP) organisation supports research and education in cardiovascular medicine across Scotland. As part of its commitment to developing future clinicians and researchers, SHARP offers Summer Studentship Bursaries to healthcare students.
These bursaries provide an opportunity for students to gain early exposure to research, develop academic skills, and explore potential careers in cardiovascular medicine. By supporting both clinical and pre-clinical projects, the programme aims to foster interest in cardiovascular research and contribute to improving heart health outcomes.
The SHARP Summer Healthcare Studentship provides funding to support medical and healthcare students undertaking cardiovascular research.
Funding: £1,600 per student, paid directly to the host institute.
Application deadline: 23:59, Thursday 7th May 2026.
Award notification: Week beginning 18th May 2026.
Students should apply with a supervisor, outlining the project, timeline, and expected outcomes.
